¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ Us
The mission of the West Coast Friends of ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ (WCFYU) is to support ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ’s West Coast ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ, alumni, friends and families; to raise the University’s profile in the major cities on the West Coast; to bring our spiritual, intellectual and creative resources to the Western Region communities—and to raise the funds needed to make all of this possible.
The Western Region of the United States is blessed with a strong, influential and flourishing Jewish community. ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ values its partnerships with communities across the United States and around the world. We are proud when alumni from our undergraduate and graduate schools practicing in the fields of medicine, law, social work, psychology, education and rabbinic studies assume leadership positions and bring the unique values of ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ to their homes and communities.
To do all this, and to continue to do it better, we need your ideas, your energy, your participation and your support.

You can help ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ build a stronger, more vibrant Jewish community. Our success on the West Coast depends on the dedication and involvement of our alumni and lay leadership. I look forward to connecting with you to make that happen.

Support ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ. Strengthen your community. Give the gift of a YU education to a student from your community.
- There are more than 225 YU undergraduate ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ from California
- There are more than 3,000 YU alumni in California, Washington, Arizona and Nevada
- YU will distribute $2,250,000 in needs-based scholarships to ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ from California in 2015–2016
- ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈ has trained over 75 Jewish day school teachers and administrators who currently work in the Los Angeles area
- There are currently over 40 semicha graduates who serve in West Coast schools and synagogues
